EDUKASI KESEHATAN PADA IBU DENGAN BAYI DALAM UPAYA MENINGKATKAN PENGETAHUAN TENTANG TEKNIK MENYUSUI DIWILAYAH KERJA PUSKESMAS PAKUAN BARU KOTA JAMBI

ABSTRAK

Latar Belakang : Air susu ibu (ASI) adalah sumber nutrisi terbaik dan paling ideal untuk diberikan kepada bayi pada tahap awal kehidupan. Untuk mencapai keberhasilan menyusui diperlukan pengatahuan mengenai teknik-teknik menyusui yang benar. Indikator dalam proses menyusui yang efektif meliputi posisi ibu dan bayi yang benar (body position), perlekatan bayi yang tepat, keefektifan hisapan bayi pada payudara. Untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dipeluhkannya edukasi tentang teknik menyusui.
Tujuan : Untuk mengetahui tingkat pengetahuan ibu tentang teknik menyusui sebelum dan sesudah diberi edukasi.
Metode : Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriftif, penelitian ini dilaksanakan di puskesmas pakuan baru kota jambi selama 3 hari. Dengan 2 orang responden. Dengan menggunakan alat ukur lembar observasi pada responden untuk melihat tingkat pengetahuan ibu bayi tentang teknik menyusui.
Hasil : Terdapat perbedaan hasil yang signifikan antara pre-test dan post-test setelah diberikan edukasi kesehatan pada ibu dengan bayi dalam upaya meningkatkan pengetahuan tentang teknik menyusui yaitu hasil pre-test dengan skor untuk Ny. DA 12 dikataragori rendah dan untuk Ny. DN 13 katogori rendah dan hasil post-test dengan skor Ny. DA 27 katagori baik dan Ny. DN skor 27 katagori baik.
Kesimpulan : Pengetahuan responden meningkat setelah diberikan edukasi tentang teknik menyusui.

ABSTRACT

Background: Breast milk is the best and most ideal source of nutrition for infants during the early stages of life. To achieve successful breastfeeding, it is essential to have knowledge of proper breastfeeding techniques. Indicators of effective breastfeeding include correct positioning of the mother and baby (body position), proper latch-on, and the effectiveness of the baby's sucking. In order to improve knowledge, education on breastfeeding techniques is necessary.
Objective: To determine the level of mothers' knowledge about breastfeeding techniques before and after receiving education.
Method: This descriptive study was conducted at Pakuan Baru Health Center, Jambi City, over three days with two respondents. Observation sheets were used as measurement tools to assess the knowledge level of mothers regarding breastfeeding techniques.
Results: There was a significant difference between pre-test and post-test scores after providing health education to mothers with infants in an effort to enhance knowledge of breastfeeding techniques. The pre-test scores were categorized as low, with Ny. DA scoring 12 and Ny. DN scoring 13. After the post-test, both Ny. DA and Ny. DN scored 27, which was categorized as good.
Conclusion: Respondents' knowledge improved after receiving education on breastfeeding techniques.
Recommendation: The findings of this study are expected to serve as a source of information or reference regarding maternal and infant health education to enhance knowledge about breastfeeding techniques.
