Abstract

ABSTRACT
Background: The utilization of digital technology in healthcare services, such as the Mobile JKN application, is a crucial strategy to enhance efficiency and accessibility of care. Despite the government and WHO emphasizing the importance of digitalization to achieve Universal Health Coverage (UHC), the adoption rate in society, including in Jambi Province, remains low. At RS dr. Bratanata Jambi, initial observations indicate that Mobile JKN usage is not yet optimal, primarily due to patients' lack of knowledge and technical constraints.
Objective: This study aims to determine the level of Mobile JKN utilization by outpatients at RS dr. Bratanata Jambi, and to analyze the relationship between patient visit interest and their knowledge of using the application.
Methods: This quantitative descriptive-correlational study was conducted at RS dr. Bratanata Jambi from February to June 2025. From a population of 3366 Mobile JKN user patients, a sample of 168 respondents was selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using questionnaires and analyzed using descriptive statistics, validity-reliability tests, and Kendall's Tau correlation.
Results: Kendall's Tau correlation test results indicate that knowledge is significantly related to Mobile JKN usage behavior (coefficient 0.481; p=0.000). Positive attitudes did not significantly correlate with behavior (coefficient 0.129; p=0.057). Although there was a significant relationship between application usage behavior and interest in visiting the hospital (coefficient 0.263; p=0.000), this relationship was categorized as weak. This is reinforced by the fact that the majority of respondents (81.5%) still chose RS dr. Bratanata Jambi even if Mobile JKN was unavailable, indicating other more dominant factors in determining patient choice.
Conclusion: Patients at RS dr. Bratanata Jambi possess excellent knowledge and attitudes towards the Mobile JKN application, but routine usage behavior remains low due to constraints. A significant relationship was found between knowledge and behavior, and between behavior and visit interest. Nevertheless, the influence of Mobile JKN on visit interest is considered weak, as the majority of patients (81.5%) still chose this hospital even without the application.
Recommendation: To optimize the utilization of the Mobile JKN application and enhance patient visit interest, RS dr. Bratanata is advised to allocate resources towards system improvements and user education to mitigate existing constraints, while simultaneously continuing to strengthen the overall quality of outpatient services, given the high level of patient loyalty.
